All About the Number and a FREEBIE
So now that we are coming to the end of the first trimester, our 2nd grade team has noticed that their students are really having a hard time with the concept of numbers, and understanding how to express numbers in different ways. After talking with our 1st grade team, we all decided to use an All About the Number anchor chart during our morning meetings, selecting a number for the week to work on, with the goal being to cover up to 30 by the end of the school year. We wanted to make sure that each day at the morning meeting we were covering different aspects of expressing a number.
Here is a sample of the All About the Number anchor chart that I am using in my class. It is also being offered as a FREEBIE in my TPT store. I have decided to use a smaller version of this chart in my math centers for my 2nd grade students to work independently with numbers. The students will get a laminated copy of the chart, a white board marker, eraser, and number cards for 0-20, with the idea that they will select a number and try and express it in different ways.

***It is important to note that the freebie is a PDF scanned version of the original chart***
